Port Canaveral is a non-operating port in that Port tenants and sub-tenants provide most direct port operation services. For employment in these operational services (i.e. stevedore, pilot, porter, crane operator, etc.), please contact the companies in our Tenant Directory. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Salary: $22,000

Requirements: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two years clerical experience and excellent customer service and communications skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Research experience preferred.

Duties: Provides clerical and administrative support for Business Development Department.


PARKING ATTENDANT PART-TIME - LEVEL I - (3 Positions Open)

Salary: $8.75/hour

Requirements: High school diploma or GED and valid Florida Driver’s License.

Duties: This position assists in the execution of Paid Parking Lot activities. Collects and safeguards parking fees collected from users of Canaveral Port Authority parking lots in accordance with CPA procedures. Maintains an accurate accounting for all funds handled at the Canaveral Port Authority Parking Lots. Functions include pick up starting cash at designated location, verify accuracy of cash as shown on starting cash bag, collect fees, and prepare and deposit all receipts in designated bank depositories.


ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR FINANCE

Salary: $22,000

Requirements: Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two years clerical experience and excellent customer service and communications skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Finance experience preferred.

Duties: Provides clerical and administrative support for Finance Department.


GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER – LEVEL V

Salary: $20.00/hour

Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Certification from an accredited Vocational School in one or more of the following areas: elevators, hydraulics, welding, and/or programmable logic controller and systems and five (5) years progressive experience in repair and maintenance of elevators, escalators, and/or loading bridge systems; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) certification highly preferred. Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Duties: Responsible for the general repair and maintenance of all elevators, escalators and/or loading bridge systems on port property. Required proficiency in maintenance and repair of advanced mechanical and hydraulic equipment and systems. Oversees and monitors elevator and escalator certifications and inspections. Maintains all records and inputs data electronically including time records and daily activity logs, preventative maintenance, parts and labor expenses. Prepares labor and material estimates, requisitions, work orders, reports and drawings as required. Perform line-handling duties for all ships arriving or departing the port. This position reports directly to the General Maintenance Supervisor.


PARKING & GROUND TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR

Salary: $31,000

Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent; and two (2) to three (3) years of experience in parking facility operations or revenue reconciliation operations or supervision; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Duties: Performs administrative and managerial duties involving planning, organizing and supervising the operations of the parking facility and vehicular traffic areas of the Port Authority. Employees in this classification perform duties of more than average difficulty requiring reasonable initiative and independent judgment under general supervision.


ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MARITIME OPERATIONS

Salary: $52,500 to $60,000

Requirements: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in marine transportation or closely related field; six (6) years of experience in a seaport transportation facility, including four (4) years of supervisory and administrative experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Duties: Performs supervisory and administrative work in controlling of the use of harbor facilities and the coordination of vessel movements and cruise support services. Duties involve responsibility for vessel berth assignments, supervising the arrival, departure and dock location of all vessels, and overseeing cruise support services.
