We welcome and encourage new construction at Port Canaveral because we know that improvements on any of our leased properties help improve the whole Port. We also know, since we’ve been through this many times, that the planning and construction process can be complex and even confusing at times for business owners.

To protect the health and safety of our tenants and guests, the quality of our water and air and our other natural resources, we have set certain criteria for building projects within the Port. In addition to our rules, you may find yourself faced with requirements of the state of Florida, the Health Department, the Fire Department, the utilities companies, the Department of Environmental Protection, the federal government and Homeland Security…and yes, that can be a lot of rules to sort through. Your architect or engineer should take care of many of these issues for you, but we’re also here to help.

You will receive a full packet of information from the Tenant Relations Department when you begin the process of applying for a building permit. The information on this website is intended to help provide a broad picture of the procedures and issues you may encounter when building at Port Canaveral and point you in the right direction when you need more details.
